Carex is partnering with a health insurance industry partner to find a Data Platforms Administrator. This role is crucial for managing and modernizing our data infrastructure, ensuring seamless support for our development teams, and contributing to process improvements. The position offers flexibility with options for in-person, hybrid, or remote work within our market areas (WI, IL, IA, MN).

What You’ll Do:

  • Administer and maintain various database management systems, including MS SQL Server and Snowflake.
  • Support platform-related activities and provide maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Assist development teams by deploying, advising, and providing light development support.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Handle on-call duties for platform maintenance as part of a rotating schedule within a team of four.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Enterprise Data Management and IT Infrastructure, and interact with external managed cloud service providers and data partners.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in database administration with MS SQL Server and Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with managed service cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Administration experience with tools like Informatica, IBM InfoSphere, Talend, Pentaho, Business Objects, Qlik, Power BI, etc
  • Exposure to additional platforms like Netezza, MySQL, and Oracle is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, workload automation, and scheduling tools.
  • Understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery practices.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate core competencies within three months of hire.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external teams.
