Carex is partnering with a Madison-based partner to hire a Director of Information Technology. This role is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive IT strategy to support business objectives and maintain a competitive advantage. The Director will assess current systems, recommend and execute upgrades, ensure critical infrastructure support, and collaborate with business leaders to optimize IT operations. This position also oversees IT budgeting, reporting, and security to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of business data.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement an IT strategy with clear objectives and performance metrics.
- Ensure business continuity plans are in place for IT infrastructure and technology.
- Oversee daily IT operations, including applications, servers, email systems, and hardware.
- Partner with business units to prioritize critical IT initiatives.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to support business goals.
- Manage hardware and software inventory tracking and maintenance.
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors for new system implementations.
- Prepare reports and presentations on IT project status and performance.
- Develop detailed project plans to monitor progress and engage stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT processes and systems.
- Assist in managing IT budgetary objectives and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Establish quality assurance processes for IT initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience leading IT organizations, with a track record of business transformation.
- Strong knowledge of IT best practices, including data management, security, and infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead teams, set strategic goals, and align IT initiatives with business objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Hands-on experience with operating systems, enterprise backup and recovery, system performance monitoring, and IT solution implementation.
- Experience in building and developing high-performing teams.
- Skills in project management, budgeting, process improvement, and strategic planning.
