Carex Consulting is working with one of our Healthcare Technology partner on a Chief Software Architect role. This role will be specializing in AI/ML within the healthcare sector. This pivotal, hands-on position is essential for devising cutting-edge software architectures and solutions that integrate data, AI, and ML, all built upon the foundations of design thinking principles.
In this role, the Chief Software (AI/ML) Architect will be responsible for designing state-of-the-art software and AI solutions. Success in this position requires a profound understanding of AI/ML technologies, data architecture, and software development, along with exceptional leadership skills and a strong commitment to understanding the needs of our partner’s customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Architectural Design: Develop comprehensive architectural plans for AI solutions, detailing data pipelines, model deployment strategies, and integration with existing IT infrastructure (AWS, Snowflake). Ensure these designs are robust, scalable, and optimized for performance to meet customer needs and enhance their experience.

Collaboration: Engage closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment. Ensure the cohesive development and deployment of AI solutions that address specific customer pain points and aspirations through technical excellence.

Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive AI strategies that support business goals. Utilize cutting-edge AI methods (GenAI/LLM/RAG) and technologies to enhance the customer experience.

System Design: Design AI systems that are highly scalable, secure, and efficient. Select and implement appropriate technologies, frameworks, and methodologies, ensuring robust data security and system reliability to protect customer data.

Evaluation and Optimization: Continuously monitor and assess the performance of AI systems. Optimize algorithms and models using advanced techniques to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reliability, ensuring consistent and dependable results for customers.

Tool and Technology Selection: Evaluate and select the most suitable tools and technologies from a range of open-source and commercial offerings.

Risk Management: Collaborate with security and risk leaders to identify and mitigate potential risks, such as training data poisoning and AI model theft. Implement ethical AI practices to protect customer data and build trust through technical safeguards.

Operationalization: Oversee the deployment of AI solutions, ensuring they are effectively operationalized and scalable to meet business demands. Provide customers with seamless, reliable, and high-performing AI-driven services through meticulous technical execution.
QUALIFICATIONS

Secure Innovative Solution Design: Experience with architecting and implementing cutting-edge AI/ML-driven data assets to enhance data retrieval, processing, and analysis capabilities while maintaining robust security protocols.

Machine Learning and Data Science Expertise: In-depth knowledge of machine learning, deep learning (including transformer architecture), and data science concepts, with practical experience in integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques within solution architectures.

Enterprise Strategy Development: Proficient in crafting secure enterprise-wide strategies and reference architectures to equip delivery teams with advanced technologies, capabilities, and APIs that meet customer needs.

Real-Time Data Integration: Extensive experience in delivering secure architectures, blueprints, and solutions that integrate operational data through real-time APIs.

Programming Skills: Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or equivalents, with a focus on secure coding practices.

Cloud Platform Proficiency: Experienced with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Snowflake, ensuring secure deployment and management. Skilled in leveraging these platforms for GenAI, LLM, and RAG implementations.

Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s or PhD is a strong plus.

Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in similar positions, with a focus on fostering a culture of security.

Communication Proficiency: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts effectively.

Healthcare Background: Strong preference for candidates with experience in designing and delivering secure AI/ML solutions within the healthcare domain, along with a solid understanding of HIPAA, PHI/PII, and compliance controls.
