Carex is partnering with a manufacturing industry partner to find a highly experienced Director – IT Applications. This role is ideal for a seasoned IT professional with a strong blend of business process knowledge and advanced technology capabilities focused on ERP, CRM, mobile, and related technologies. Reporting directly to the CIO, the Director – IT Applications will manage the application organization, including staffing, budgeting, and overall management, ensuring that the application team optimizes the cost, risk, and value of applications throughout their lifecycle.
This is a Direct Hire position and would be onsite in Neenah, WI.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage and develop the application team, building skills and capabilities to meet organizational needs, while addressing new skill gaps.
- Implement and manage application lifecycle management, including status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks.
- Collaborate with the CIO and other IT leaders to develop IT strategies aligned with business goals, staying current with industry trends and issues.
- Ensure alignment with corporate goals and objectives while managing and maintaining the budget.
- Manage and consolidate relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they meet the organization’s needs cost-effectively.
- Define and enhance methodologies and practices of application lifecycle management in line with best practices and continuous improvement.
- Direct the development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong analytical skills and experience in all phases of the systems development lifecycle.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to end users, staff, and management.
- Expertise in IT contracts, including their cost implications, and the ability to engage with procurement and legal advisors as needed.
- Knowledge of Lean IT, Agile development, and DevOps principles and frameworks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of data, systems, and general information, with a high level of personal integrity.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and languages.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams by providing advice and guidance in a non-judgmental manner.
- Understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to drive results toward those objectives.
- Flexibility and openness to rapid changes in business needs, processes, and technologies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration; a Master’s degree in a related field with a focus on technology is preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in software design/development, ERP implementation (SAP preferred), Salesforce, mobile applications, application architecture, project management, and related areas.
- Proven experience managing a team of 10+ members in application development, implementation, or management.
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience in consulting with middle and senior management.
- Demonstrated experience in cost mitigation, contract management, and evaluation.
