Carex is partnering with our healthtech startup partner to identify a skilled Director of Provider Services to support the growth and management of virtual care services. This role will focus on operational excellence, provider relations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, the Director will drive strategies to enhance provider satisfaction and improve operational efficiency.  This role is a hybrid role in Chicago, with 2 days/week on-site.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead all activities related to provider recruiting, onboarding, credentialing, enrollment processes, and provider relations.
  • Oversee customer requirements related to credentialing, delegated credentialing activity, and negotiate contract terms when needed.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the provider services team, including compensation committee activities, workforce management analytics, and performance improvement plans.
  • Build and maintain essential relationships with payors, health systems, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and safety regulations, while maintaining comprehensive operational documentation.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to develop and implement action plans to improve provider satisfaction.
  • Establish a positive work environment that supports talent attraction and retention.
  • Monitor market trends and operational shifts, communicating key insights to leadership.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of managerial experience, including oversight of self-directed individuals.
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in provider credentialing, enrollment, and provider relations.
    • Familiarity with “Verifiable” credentialing software is a plus.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Deep knowledge of credentialing guidelines, provider relations, and clinical care operations.
    • Strong communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic workloads.
    • Enthusiastic and creative leadership capabilities with a focus on collaboration.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
    • Preferred certifications include CPCS, NCQA, URAC, and AAAHC accreditation experience.
