Carex is partnering with our Virtual Care healthtech startup industry partner to hire a Director of Provider Services!

The Director of Provider Services will lead the staffing and management efforts for a telehealth platform group, ensuring provider availability to meet business needs. This role will develop and implement policies, procedures, and workflows to align with company strategies, while overseeing provider recruiting, onboarding, credentialing, enrollment, training, and relations. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with leadership on customer engagement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will come from an enterprise health system with strong knowledge of Epic system.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead all activities related to provider recruiting, onboarding, credentialing, enrollment, and communications.

  • Ensure sufficient clinical provider staffing to meet operational and growth goals.

  • Oversee provider relations, including the Compensation Committee, performance improvement plans, and off-boarding processes.

  • Maintain essential relationships with payors and health system personnel.

  • Collaborate with executives and legal counsel on network development, credentialing compliance, and contract terms.

  • Manage department personnel functions, conducting evaluations and ensuring effective workflow compliance.

  • Develop and maintain operational documentation such as playbooks, policies, and program descriptions.

  • Monitor market trends and regulatory changes, communicating updates to leadership.

  • Ensure high provider satisfaction and develop action plans to support continuous improvement.

  • Participate in customer and payor meetings, providing preparation and operational insights.

  • Proactively resolve operational issues with analysis, recommendations, and action plans.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum five (5) years progressive management experience in provider credentialing, enrollment, and provider relations.

  • At least three (3) years of experience managing support staff and self-directed teams.

  • Strong knowledge of credentialing guidelines, clinical operations, and provider relations.

  • Experience collaborating with physicians, physician groups, and hospital systems.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize independently.

  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to varied workloads, and lead with enthusiasm and creativity.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Preferred certifications and familiarity with CPCS, NCQA, URAC, and AAAHC standards.

  • Experience with Verifiable credentialing software is a plus.
