Carex is partnering with a vehicle & mobility technology industry partner to find an Electrical Engineer consultant who will design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle electrical systems. This role will include engineering analysis, electrical design or re-design, and the development of electrical systems and subsystems for both existing and new vehicles.
This role has a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week onsite in Oshkosh, WI. This is a 6 month contract with potential for extension.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks under close supervision in accordance with industry engineering standards and processes.
- Support Senior Engineers in preparing plans, designs, computations, and reports.
- Contribute to projects of limited complexity in a support role, collaborating with internal engineering teams and external suppliers as needed.
- Design electrical parts and components to meet defined parameters and specifications while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Assist with accurate calculations, analysis, and investigations to address engineering needs.
- Provide technical assistance during prototype, pilot, or production builds, troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.
- Process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, and the creation of detailed documentation.
- Participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration with engineering and business teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Required: An accredited bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred:
- Accredited bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with programming languages and controls software.
- Knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 or vehicle networking systems.
- Experience in automotive/heavy equipment repair or design.
- Wire harness design expertise.
