Carex is partnering with leading manufacturing industry partner to find an Embedded Telematics Engineer to join their team in Oshkosh, WI. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and testing high-quality vehicle control subsystem software. The ideal candidate will be skilled in writing embedded C/C++ and working with Matlab-generated software on embedded platforms. They will play a key role in multiple projects, contributing to both development and peer review of software while ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and test embedded C/C++ and Matlab-generated software for vehicle control subsystems.
- Write and peer review high-quality, maintainable, object-oriented C++ software.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, to address technical requirements.
- Develop detailed requirements, design documentation, and comprehensive test plans for electronic systems.
- Conduct simulation and real-world testing to verify system safety, reliability, and performance.
- Follow defined CMMI Level 3 procedures for software development and safety processes.
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Mentor junior engineers, designers, or technicians working on shared projects.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
- Travel as needed to support engineering projects.
What You’ll Bring

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of related experience in software development for embedded systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, JSON, Python, and SQL databases in addition to embedded C/C++.
- Experience in developing software aligned with safety and quality standards such as CMMI Level 3.
