Carex Consulting Group is partnering with a Health Technology startup dedicated to modernizing healthcare with advanced AI tools and they are GROWING!! The organization is looking for their FIRST HIRE as a Senior Full Stack Engineer. The organization seeks a creative, collaborative engineer who is energized by challenging problems with the potential to have a massive impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare claims data.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensuring platform security, robustness, and scalability
- Improving algorithmic efficiency
- Designing data pipelines to drive ML training and analytics
- Meeting with and understanding the needs of both internal users and external customers
- Shipping features end-to-end: from design, requirements gathering, to testing and deploying
- Pair programming with other engineering team members
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven success in the fast-paced 0 to 1 early days of young startups (experience on founding team or pre-seed ideally)
- Experience with basic infra management in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc) – deploying containers, managing databases and credentials, etc
- At least 5 years of experience working on collaborative software or data science projects, and the typical tooling (git, task tracking, etc), and skills (producing readable, quality code) that come with it
- Strong fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, database management, API design
- Experience with most of our stack: AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Python, Pytorch, React
- Fluent building everything from REST APIs to heavy chained workflows in Python
- An enjoyment of that startup balance between efficiency, scalability, and shipping fast to meet customer needs
- Flexible problem solving – equally eager to review CS conference papers, benchmark SOTA algorithms, or design novel approaches – and know which approach is most likely to be the highest leverage in the current context
- Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship available)
Desirable Skills (Bonuses):
- Experience working with healthcare datasets (e.g. payer claims data, EHR charts, ICD-10 coding, etc.)
- Experience building secure systems with HIPAA compliance as a core principle

Compensation Range:
- $140,000 – $160,000 annual FTE base comp
