Carex is partnering with a Insurance industry partner to find an experienced Lead Data Modeler to join their Healthcare Data Analytics Team. This role is responsible for designing and implementing scalable data models that drive business intelligence, analytics, and decision-making. The Lead Data Modeler will collaborate cross-functionally with business leaders, application developers, and IT teams to create solutions that extract valuable insights, optimize business processes, and enhance service delivery.
What You’ll Do

Data Modeling & Architecture
- Lead the design and development of logical and physical data models that support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
- Build and maintain data transformation pipelines within the analytics environment of the enterprise data warehouse.
- Continuously optimize existing data models for performance, scalability, and evolving business needs.
- Integrate complex healthcare data sources while ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

Business Collaboration & Alignment
- Partner with technology teams to establish scalable data solutions and architectures.
- Collaborate with business leaders, data analysts, and IT teams to translate business requirements into actionable data models.
- Define data needs, use cases, and solutions that address key business challenges and opportunities.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to other team members, ensuring adherence to data modeling standards and best practices.

Data Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure data models comply with governance policies and industry standards, particularly in healthcare.
- Implement data quality processes to validate and cleanse data for accuracy and consistency.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues proactively to maintain reliable reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to privacy and security regulations, particularly regarding sensitive health information.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, or related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- OR Associate degree with 9+ years of relevant experience.
- OR high school equivalency with 12+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of data modeling and data warehousing experience using Snowflake, SQL, Python, and Git.
- Experience with ETL development, data import processes, and operational databases.
- Industry experience in healthcare, health insurance, or insurance is preferred.
- Expertise in Kimball Modeling, normalization, and hybrid data modeling methods.
- Professional certification in an analytical field (e.g., Data Analytics, Data Science, Actuarial Services).
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with both business leaders and technical teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL Developer, and other query tools (e.g., MedInsight, BusinessObjects).
- Extensive experience with MS Excel and healthcare claims payment systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Medicare & Medicaid reimbursement methodologies and health insurance regulations.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
