Carex is partnering with an Insurance industry partner to find a talented Platform Engineer. This role will initially focus on delivering private cloud services or infrastructure solutions across public and private cloud environments, such as AWS, GCP, and Azure. Additionally, the candidate will develop data pipeline architectures to extract, aggregate, and analyze infrastructure performance data, along with business data, for forecasting infrastructure capacity and assessing trends and risks. The role blends data engineering with infrastructure engineering, requiring strong data pipeline skills alongside predictive modeling capabilities.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement data pipeline architectures to analyze and forecast infrastructure performance data across cloud environments.
- Develop infrastructure solutions for both private and public cloud services, with a focus on automation and orchestration using tools like Ansible/AAP and Terraform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Apply coding practices, including source control management (Gitlab), and utilize scripting languages such as Python and UNIX Shell Scripting for automation and configuration tasks.
- Engineer resilient Linux and Windows systems and ensure data and application resiliency across multiple platforms.
- Utilize data observability tools like Datadog to monitor and analyze infrastructure data.
- Produce detailed architecture recommendations and develop pipelines that provide meaningful insights for infrastructure capacity forecasting.
- Communicate technical findings to stakeholders through reports and presentations, maintaining documentation for all processes and models.
- Ensure solutions comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong background in engineering and data analysis with hands-on experience in infrastructure automation and orchestration tools (Ansible/AAP, Terraform).
- Expertise in data pipeline engineering, including experience in extracting, aggregating, and analyzing data to provide infrastructure insights and forecasts.
- Proficiency in coding practices and scripting languages, particularly Python and UNIX Shell Scripting.
- Extensive experience working with both Linux and Windows systems, and a deep understanding of application and data resiliency across diverse platforms.
- Practical experience with data observability tools like Datadog.
- Strong problem-solving skills to transform data analysis challenges into predictive models and actionable results.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to present findings and technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
