Carex is partnering with a financial services industry partner to hire a Senior System Automation Analyst. This role is responsible for system administration of core server hardware and operating systems, including automation, monitoring, and management systems. The Senior System Automation Analyst also oversees job control, scheduling, and troubleshooting to ensure operational efficiency and system reliability.
What You’ll Do
- Administer and maintain AIX and Linux systems, including production and non-production environments.
- Perform hardware and software management, including patching, firmware upgrades, backups, disaster recovery, and long-term capacity planning.
- Monitor UNIX systems, configure alerts, set thresholds, and generate performance reports.
- Lead system automation efforts using OpCon, scripting (UNIX, Perl, PowerOn, Windows command line), and other automation tools.
- Manage system integrations, including OpCon LSAMs, NFS mount points, FTP, and encrypted data transports.
- Oversee job scheduling, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting for automated processes.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, change control procedures, and documentation standards.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior staff on UNIX administration, job scheduling, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with auditors to enhance IT security practices and maintain compliance.
- Stay current on emerging technologies to support system improvements and integrations.
What You’ll Bring
- A four-year degree in IT or 7–9 years of relevant professional experience with strong technical certifications.
- Expertise in UNIX system administration, automation, and job scheduling.
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux/Unix, SQL or other databases, and OpCon automation.
- Experience with Jack Henry Symitar system and PowerOn programming language.
- Strong understanding of network topologies and protocols.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize projects, and collaborate across departments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills in troubleshooting system operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for professional interactions across all levels of an organization.
