Carex is partnering with a Madison-based partner to hire a Senior Network Engineer to lead the daily operations, installation, and maintenance of the corporate network. This role is responsible for designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise networking solutions while ensuring optimal performance and security.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, architect, configure, troubleshoot, and manage Cisco Enterprise networking solutions.
  • Coordinate and support telecommunications installations.
  • Monitor enterprise network hardware systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and resolve complex network issues escalated from the service desk.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend network-related tools and emerging technologies.
  • Manage network security in collaboration with the security team.
  • Provide remote access solutions, including VPN and Terminal Services.
  • Maintain network documentation, compliance logs, and problem-resolution records.
  • Oversee network load balancing (DNS, DHCP, IP) and redundancy strategies.
  • Support Active Directory administration and Citrix ADC Netscaler load balancing.
  • Partner with vendors to resolve network-related challenges.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and network technology advancements.

What You’ll Bring

  • B.S. in Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience with Cisco Route/Switch.
  • Network Certification: CCNP required.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, networking protocols, and dynamic routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS).
  • Proficiency in Cisco IOS, IO-XE, NX-OS, and security infrastructure (ISE, Umbrella).
  • Strong knowledge of firewall solutions (Cisco FMC, ASA 5500, Fortinet, SD-WAN).
  • Experience with Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, STP, HSRP, VRRP, and EtherChannel.
  • Familiarity with Linux and open-source administration.
  • Strong project management and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to stay current with evolving network technologies.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
