Carex is partnering with a Financial Services industry partner to hire a Senior Unix/Windows Systems Analyst. This role is responsible for managing applications and systems throughout their entire lifecycle, including acquisition, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and deinstallation. The Senior Systems Analyst provides support for branch offices both on-site and remotely, resolves hardware and software issues—including technology supported by other teams and vendors—and serves as a mentor to junior team members. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and leadership in coordinating small teams.
What You’ll Do
- Provide day-to-day support for applications, networks, workstations, and servers.
- Troubleshoot and maintain systems such as SCCM, HelpStar, SMA OpCon automation, Meridian Link, FICS, Outlook/Exchange, SQL Server, and various ancillary financial systems.
- Assist users with technical issues, ensuring optimal system performance and data access.
- Install, configure, and administer AIX or Windows servers, desktop applications, and network systems.
- Respond to technical issues, document problem resolutions, and coordinate with vendors for system updates and changes.
- Monitor IT systems, ensuring standardization and security best practices.
- Stay current on emerging technologies to support system integration, testing, and development.
- Participate in system upgrade planning, testing, and deployment.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, compatibility, and successful system integration.
- Support after-hours and weekend technical needs as required.
What You’ll Bring
- 7–10 years of experience in financial systems analysis (or 10–14 years without a degree).
- Experience as a primary supporter for 5–7 major systems and 4–6 ancillary systems.
- Expertise in financial system integration, compliance, and cross-system compatibility.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy, Linux, Citrix, Cisco, VoIP, and antivirus administration.
- Experience with AIX, Ubuntu, and Suse is preferred.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to coordinate complex test plans.
- A valid driver’s license.
- IT-related certifications are a plus.
